Welcome to Above The Fold! Your weekly dose of business development for SMEs.
These days are golden for those who seek organic traction on LinkedIn. But with all the noise in the platform, how can you grow, let alone stand out?
Worry not. I have 2 growth hacking tactics that you can use to get ahead of 95% LinkedIn users out there, and WIN the game.
Here they are.
Tag people who ‘like’ your posts in the comments, and thank them.
There’s even a name for this — it’s called “coat tailing”. That is, using other people’s attentive audience to grow yours.
LinkedIn is showing the posts where people are tagged to other people in THAT person’s network. So the more people with large networks you tag, the bigger your post will blow up on LinkedIn.
You can even utilize this by giving someone a shoutout. (i.e., thanking them for a valuable piece of content, watching a good Ted talk, etc.)
But make sure that you don't overdo this, because you'll become a spammer and your content will get shadowbanned.
Use Linkedin Helper to grow your connections, as well as find unlimited amount of leads.
If You didn't already know, LinkedIn limits how many users you can search for in the platform's search feature. This is done to divert users to their Premium upgrades.
But you can bypass this by using Linkedin Helper (linkedinhelper.com), which gives you a list of profiles that fit your given criteria in a Google Search results page. So you're finding users without using LinkedIn search at all.
Of course, you're still limited by the number of connection requests you can send per week, but you can still contact them via email or any other given method, and engage with them.
Are there any other growth tactics than these two?
Absolutely. But you need to pace yourself. Remember, it's a long-term game, trying to build a brand online (or even offline for that matter).
Two tactics at a time is more than enough.
Till next week.
-Jay.
